- 4 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup heavy cream (or full-fat coconut milk for a dairy-free option)
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1/2 cup crushed vanilla wafers (optional)
Instructions
- Slice and freeze the bananas for at least 2 hours.
- Blend the frozen bananas until smooth.
- Combine banana puree, condensed milk, and vanilla extract.
- Whip heavy cream to soft peaks and fold into the banana mixture.
- Chill the mixture for at least 4 hours.
- Churn in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer’s instructions.
- Add mix-ins during the last few minutes of churning (optional).
- Transfer to a container and freeze for at least 2 hours to harden.
Notes
For a no-churn version, whip 2 cups of heavy cream to stiff peaks and fold into the banana base. Freeze for 6 hours, stirring every 2 hours. Variations include chocolate chips, dulce de leche, nuts, or sprinkles. Use ripe bananas for best flavor.
