Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or full-fat coconut milk for a dairy-free option)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup crushed vanilla wafers (optional)

Instructions

  1.  Slice and freeze the bananas for at least 2 hours.
  2.  Blend the frozen bananas until smooth.
  3.  Combine banana puree, condensed milk, and vanilla extract.
  4.  Whip heavy cream to soft peaks and fold into the banana mixture.
  5.  Chill the mixture for at least 4 hours.
  6.  Churn in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  7.  Add mix-ins during the last few minutes of churning (optional).
  8. Transfer to a container and freeze for at least 2 hours to harden.

Notes

For a no-churn version, whip 2 cups of heavy cream to stiff peaks and fold into the banana base. Freeze for 6 hours, stirring every 2 hours. Variations include chocolate chips, dulce de leche, nuts, or sprinkles. Use ripe bananas for best flavor.
